1. About Hop And Go Zadar

1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our services, including the rental of electric bicycles, push bikes (conventional bicycles), electric scooters, and stand-up boards (SUP). Standard accessories such as helmets, locks, paddles, tool kits, bags and repair items are included when provided. Child seats are available as an optional extra and are not included in the base rental price.

2. General Conditions & Liability Release

2.1 Customers must be over 18 or accompanied by a legal guardian. 

2.2 Identification (ID): A valid government-issued ID is required for all rentals. A photo of the ID may be taken and kept for the duration of the service at the owner’s discretion. 

2.3 Assumption of Risk: The customer understands that cycling, scootering, and paddleboarding involve inherent risks. For Rentals (Bikes, SUP): The customer assumes full responsibility for personal injury or damage to themselves, their passengers (including children in child seats), or third parties. 

2.4 Liability Waiver: To the extent permitted by Croatian law, Hop And Go is NOT liable for any accidents, injuries, or health issues resulting from the user’s conduct, third-party actions, traffic accidents, or inherent risks of the activity during the rental. This waiver explicitly includes any incidents involving minors or additional passengers transported on the equipment (such as in child seats), for whom the customer assumes total legal and safety responsibility. 

2.5 Driving, paddling, or boarding under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited. 

2.6 Equipment Condition: By accepting the equipment, the customer acknowledges that it is in perfect working condition and free of visible defects. It is the customer’s responsibility to inspect the equipment before departure, including any child seats or accessories, and report any pre-existing issues immediately.

3. Equipment & Service Specific Rules

3.1 Stand-Up Paddle (SUP):  Rental Duration: SUP rentals are specifically for 2 Hours (unless otherwise agreed).

  • Swimming Skills: The customer confirms they are a competent swimmer or under direct supervision of a legal guardian who assumes full responsibility.

  • Life Jackets: Provided upon request. Use is optional and at the discretion of the user or guardian.

3.2 Bicycles (Electric & Push Bikes) & Scooters: Helmets: Mandatory for all cyclists under 16 (Croatian Law). Provided free of charge.

  • Mechanical Support: In the event of a flat tire (puncture) or minor mechanical issues, Hop And Go is not obligated to provide on-site repairs. The customer is responsible for returning the bicycle to the shop.

4. Booking, Payment & Cancellations

4.1 Full payment is required before the rental begins on-site. 

4.2 Cancellations & Refunds: We are flexible with cancellations for any reason (weather, personal issues, health, or change of plans).

  • Notice Period: We kindly ask customers to provide at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellation to help us manage our bookings.

  • Weather Policy (SUP): Hop And Go reserves the right to advise against or cancel SUP rentals if sea conditions (strong waves/wind) pose a safety risk. If the customer insists on proceeding against our recommendation, they do so at their own risk, and Hop And Go assumes no responsibility for any resulting incidents, injuries, or discomfort.

  • Weather Policy (Bikes & Scooters): In the event of rain or adverse weather, the decision to cancel or proceed rests solely with the customer. If the customer chooses to proceed, Hop And Go is not liable for any accidents or discomfort caused by weather conditions.

  • Started Rentals & Weather Changes: Refunds are only applicable if the rental has not yet started. Once the equipment has been taken and the rental period has begun, no refunds will be issued due to sudden weather changes (e.g., rain, storms, or wind). The customer assumes the risk of weather fluctuations once the service starts. Any other refund requests for non-weather reasons will be subject to a case-by-case analysis by the owner and are not guaranteed.

5. Rental Period and Returns

5.1 The rental period starts at the agreed time. Delays in collection do not extend the return time. 

5.2 Return Times for SUP: 2 Hours Rental: Must be returned exactly 2 hours after the agreed pickup time. 

5.3 Return Times for Bicycles & Scooters: 

  • 4 Hours Rental: Must be returned exactly 4 hours after the agreed pickup time.
  • Day Pass: Must be returned by 19:00 (7 PM).

  • 24 Hours Rental: Return time must match the same time as the pickup on the final day of the rental period.

5.4 Late Returns: Any delay in returning the equipment (Bikes, Scooters, or SUP) will incur additional charges. Late fees will be applied based on the equipment’s current rates for the exceeded time.

6. Responsibility, Damage, Loss & Theft

6.1 The customer is liable for any damage caused to vehicles or accessories (helmets, locks, child seats, paddles, tool kits). 

6.2 Loss of Accessories: Replacement costs will be charged for any lost/stolen accessory. 

6.3 Theft Prevention: All bicycles and scooters must be locked when left unattended. In the event of theft of the bicycle, scooter, or stand-up paddle board, the customer will be held responsible and charged the full retail value of the equipment. 

6.4 Return Location: All physical equipment must be returned to the shop at: Krešimirova Obala 20 – Diklo, Zadar.

7. Legal Provisions

7.1 Governed by the laws of the Republic of Croatia. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Zadar.

8. Privacy & Data Protection (GDPR)

8.1 Data Collection: Hop And Go collects personal data (Name, WhatsApp number, Email, and ID photo) solely for the purpose of fulfilling the rental contract, insurance safety, and communication. 

8.2 Payments: Financial data is processed by secure third-party payment providers. Hop And Go does not store your full card details. 

8.3 Third Parties: We do not share your data with third parties, except when required by local authorities, legal requirements, or insurance providers in case of accidents or theft. 

8.4 Security: All personal data and ID photos are stored securely and are deleted once the rental period is concluded and the equipment is returned safely.
