Terms and Conditions & Privacy Policy – Hop And Go Zadar

  1. About Hop And Go Zadar

1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our services, including the rental of electric bicycles, push bikes (conventional bicycles), electric scooters, stand-up boards (SUP), and Boat Trips. Standard accessories such as helmets, locks, paddles, tool kits, and repair items are included when provided. Child seats are available as an optional extra and are not included in the base rental price.

  1. General Conditions & Liability Release

2.1 Customers must be over 18 or accompanied by a legal guardian.

2.2 Identification (ID): A valid government-issued ID is required for all rentals and boat tours. A photo of the ID may be taken and kept for the duration of the service at the owner’s discretion.

2.3 Assumption of Risk: The customer understands that cycling, scootering, paddleboarding, and boating involve inherent risks.

  • For Rentals (Bikes, SUP, Self-Drive Boat): The customer assumes full responsibility for personal injury or damage to themselves or third parties.
  • For Guided Boat Trips: While the captain is responsible for vessel navigation, passengers assume risk for personal conduct and must follow all safety protocols.
  • 2.4 Liability Waiver: To the extent permitted by Croatian law, Hop And Go is NOT liable for any accidents, injuries, or health issues resulting from the user’s conduct, third-party actions, or inherent risks of the activity during the rental or boat tour.
  • 2.5 Driving, paddling, or boarding under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.
  • 2.6 Equipment Condition: By accepting the equipment, the customer acknowledges that it is in perfect working condition and free of visible defects. It is the customer’s responsibility to inspect the equipment before departure and report any pre-existing issues immediately.
  1. Equipment & Service Specific Rules 3.1 Stand-Up Paddle (SUP):
  • Rental Duration: SUP rentals are specifically for 2 Hours (unless otherwise agreed).
  • Swimming Skills: The customer confirms they are a competent swimmer or under direct supervision of a legal guardian who assumes full responsibility.
  • Life Jackets: Provided upon request. Use is optional and at the discretion of the user or guardian.

3.2 Bicycles (Electric & Push Bikes) & Scooters:

  • Helmets: Mandatory for all cyclists under 16 (Croatian Law). Provided free of charge.
  • Mechanical Support: In the event of a flat tire (puncture) or minor mechanical issues, Hop And Go is not obligated to provide on-site repairs. The customer is responsible for returning the bicycle to the shop.

3.3 Boat Trips & Rentals:

  • Captain’s Authority: Passengers must follow the captain’s instructions at all times.
  • Self-Drive: For rentals without a captain, a valid nautical motorboat license is mandatory.
  • Weather Conditions: Boat trips are subject to weather. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule for safety.
  • Deposit: For Boat Trips, a deposit/down payment is required at least 24 hours before the trip to confirm.
  1. Booking, Payment & Cancellations

4.1 Full payment is required before the rental or boat trip begins on-site.

4.2 Boat Trip Confirmations: Reservations are only guaranteed once the advance deposit is received (at least 24h prior).

4.3 Cancellations: We are flexible with cancellations. However, Hop And Go reserves the right to cancel any boat trip due to bad weather conditions to ensure the safety of all passengers. In such cases, rescheduling or refunds of deposits are at the owner’s discretion.

  1. Rental Period and Returns 5.1 The rental period starts at the agreed time. Delays in collection do not extend the return time. 5.2 Return Times for SUP:
  • 2 Hours Rental: Must be returned exactly 2 hours after the agreed pickup time.

5.3 Return Times for Bicycles & Scooters:

  • 4 Hours Rental: Must be returned exactly 4 hours after the agreed pickup time.
  • Day Pass: Must be returned by 19:00 (7 PM).
  • 24 Hours Rental: Return time must match the same time as the pickup on the final day of the rental period.

5.4 Late Returns: Any delay in returning the equipment (Bikes, Scooters, or SUP) will incur additional charges. Late fees will be applied based on the equipment’s current rates for the exceeded time.

  1. Responsibility, Damage & Loss

6.1 The customer is liable for any damage caused to vehicles, boat equipment, or accessories (helmets, locks, child seats, paddles, tool kits).

6.2 Loss of Accessories: Replacement costs will be charged for any lost/stolen accessory.

6.3 Theft Prevention: All bicycles and scooters must be locked when left unattended.

  1. Return Location

7.1 Bicycles, Scooters, and SUPs: All physical equipment must be returned to the shop at: Kresimirova Obala 20 – Diklo.

7.2 Boat Trips: Passengers will be returned to the original departure point or a pre-agreed location.

  1. Legal Provisions

8.1 Governed by the laws of the Republic of Croatia. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Zadar.

9. Privacy & Data Protection (GDPR)

9.1 Data Collection: Hop And Go collects personal data (Name, WhatsApp number, Email, and ID photo) solely for the purpose of fulfilling the rental contract, insurance safety, and communication. If you leave a review or comment on our platforms, that information may also be stored.

9.2 Payments: When you pay via credit/debit card, bank transfer, or online platforms, your financial data is processed by secure third-party payment providers. Hop And Go does not store your full card details; we only receive confirmation of payment.

9.3 Third Parties: We do not share your data with third parties, except when required by local authorities, legal requirements, secure payment processors, or insurance providers in case of accidents or theft.

9.4 Security: All personal data and ID photos are stored securely and are deleted once the rental period is concluded and the equipment is returned safely.
